Glendale requires a permit for a shed.
An accessory structure of 120 square feet or less does not require a building permit; a structure below 120 square feet that exceeds a building height of 6 feet is not required to submit a building permit but does need to comply with accessory structure building setbacks. Movable or manufactured structures such as children's play equipment, trash enclosures, tool or storage sheds, and pet shelters smaller than 120 square feet in area and less than 6 feet in height may be placed within a required rear or side yard setback, but not in a required landscape setback, and must be behind a property screen wall or behind the nearest front plane of the principal building where such a wall does not exist.
