Do you need a permit?
Honolulu does not require a permit for a shed.
One-story detached buildings that are accessory to Group R-3 occupancies and are used as storage, tool, or playhouse structures or similar uses do not require a building permit where the aggregate floor area of such structures does not exceed 120 square feet.
