Re-roof permit checklist — Bountiful, Utah
Assembled from Bountiful’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Bountiful requires a permit for a re-roof.
Bountiful's reroof policy states that residential roof repairs are not required to have a permit from the city. Repairs qualify only where they are limited to less than 20 percent of one roof surface or less than 10 percent of the total roof area of the entire building, the existing roof is not water soaked or deteriorated past being an adequate base for repair, the roof does not already carry more than three applications of roof covering, and the repair material is compatible with the existing roofing product. A reroof or roof recover is not a repair and does require a permit.
