Shed permit checklist — Bellevue, Washington

Assembled from Bellevue’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.

Do you need a permit?

Bellevue requires a permit for a shed.

When a permit is not required

A detached storage shed, play house or private gazebo with a floor area of 200 square feet or less does not require a permit. These structures must still comply with applicable Land Use Code requirements, such as setbacks, lot coverage, building height, impervious surfaces and the Critical Areas Overlay District.
