Defined in the standard specifications of 8 state transportation agencies. Each definition below is the agency’s own text, with the section it comes from — they do not all say the same thing, and on a contract the difference is the point.
Definitions are quoted from state-authored public specification books. This page carries no I-Code-derived terms.
The drawings, or reproductions, provided by the Department, showing the location, character, dimensions, and details of the work.
Section 101 — DEFINITIONS AND TERMS →The plans sheets and digital models (2D and 3D) provided as contract documents, including reproductions thereof, showing the location, character, dimensions, and details of the work. Proposal (Bid, Bid Proposal). The offer of a bidder, on the prescribed form, to perform the work and to furnish the labor and materials at the prices quoted.

Section 101 — Terms, Format, and Definitions →The project plans and standard drawings that show the location, character, and dimensions of the prescribed work, including layouts, profiles, cross sections, and other details. Project Plans. A set of plans addressing the work required for the project. At the time of advertisement, the project plans may include the following: a vicinity map, a summary of quantities, notes, signing information, traffic control plans, and detailed drawings. Standard Drawings. An approved set of drawings showing standard details of construction and materials for the work on a project. Predecessor. An activity that is defined by schedule logic to precede another activity. A predecessor may control the start or finish date of its successor. Section 101 10 Project. The specific section of highway on which construction is to be performed under the contract. Project Control Number (PCN). A number generated by the Department for project tracking.

Precast/Prestressed Concrete Construction Manual (PCCM). The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Construction Manual published by the Office of Structures. Section 101 — Abbreviations and Definitions of Terms →The approved plans, profiles, cross -sections, standard roadway and structure drawings, working drawings and supplemental drawings, or exact reproductions thereof, which show the location, character, dimensions, and details of the construction to be performed under the Contract. 101.03 9 Prequalification. The procedure established and administered by the Department by virtue of which prospective bidders are required to establish their responsibility and qualifications in advance of submission of Proposals.
