How this jurisdiction calculates the fee

Fort Lauderdale publishes no flat building permit fees. Verified 2026-09-28 against BUILDING PERMIT FEES, Rev: 10, Revision Date 9/17/2026, I.D. Number BPF, approved by Building Official John Travers, downloaded from the city domain and read in full with pdftotext -layout. A master permit, a stand alone permit and a trade permit are each charged the greater of a $131 minimum or 1.75 percent of construction cost. A premium fee for engineering, landscaping and zoning plan review and inspection adds the greater of $93 or 0.12 percent of construction cost. SUPERSESSION REPAIRED 2026-09-28: the stored figures were taken from Revision 9 dated 8/28/2026, which priced private-provider work as a flat residential figure and a flat commercial figure. Revision 10 restructured it again, back to a base fee with a stated commercial percentage reduction, and banded by project cost. Permit By Affidavit (Provider Completes) Inspection for project costs $25,000 and below is $105 base and $78.75 commercial (25 percent reduction); Plan Review and Inspection for project costs $25,000 and below is $105 base and $52.50 commercial (50 percent reduction); Inspection for project costs $25,001 and above is $273 base and $204.75 commercial (25 percent reduction); Plan Review and Inspection for project costs $25,001 and above is $446 base and $223 commercial (50 percent reduction). The Revision 9 single-trade pair of $131 residential and $98 commercial no longer appears anywhere in the schedule, and the $205 commercial figure is now printed as $204.75. The internal inconsistency recorded against Revision 9, where the percentage labels contradicted their own arithmetic, is resolved in Revision 10: $204.75 is exactly 25 percent off $273 and $223 is exactly 50 percent off $446, and both are labelled accordingly. Four charges are collected on top of the permit fee: a state Department of Business and Professional Regulation surcharge of 1 percent with a $2 minimum, a state Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Fund surcharge of 1.5 percent with a $2 minimum, a $5 construction lien law charge, and a Broward Board of Rules and Appeals charge of $0.52 per $1,000 of construction cost with a $2 minimum. A certificate of occupancy, partial certificate of occupancy, temporary certificate of occupancy and expansion of a temporary or partial certificate are each $405; an extension of a temporary certificate of occupancy and a certificate of completion are each $105; a reinspection is $164; presale, after hours and business tax inspections are $105 per hour with a two hour minimum on weekdays and a three hour minimum on weekends. Reexamination and plan revision are $105 per hour or $26.25 per 15 minute increment, shop drawings are $105 per discipline, a change of contractor is $105, outdoor dining, sidewalk cafe and temporary construction barrier permits are $105, a forty-year building safety inspection is $300 and inspections of vacant or boarded-up structures are $105 per inspection. Renewing before expiration costs 50 percent of the total permit fee and renewing after expiration costs 100 percent. SOURCING NOTE: the previously cited /v/1/.../building-fees.pdf and /v/2/.../building-fees-august-2026.pdf both still return HTTP 200 and both now 302-redirect to /v/3/.../building-fees-august-2026-r10.pdf (identical md5), so a reachability check passes them while serving different bytes; both URLs on this row were repointed to the r10 path.
