R306 Crosswalks R306.1 General. Crosswalks shall comply with R306. R306.2 Pedestrian Signal Phase Timing. Where a traffic control signal with pedestrian signal indications is provided at a crosswalk, pedestrian signal phase timing shall be based on a pedestrian clearance time that is calculated using a pedestrian walking speed of 3.5 ft/s (1.1 m/s) or less from the location of the pedestrian push button to a pedestrian refuge island or the far side of the traveled way.
