210 SALVAGING, STOCKPILING AND PLACING TOPSOIL 210.1 DESCRIPTION Within the construction limits, excavate existing topsoil from cut areas and areas to be covered by embankments. Haul and stockpile the salvaged topsoil to a location approved by the E ngineer. Place the salvaged topsoil on backslopes, foreslopes and ditche s or as directed by the Engineer. Do not place topsoil in areas of rock that are on a 3:1 slope or steeper in rock ditches or other areas listed in the plans. L eave stockpile areas in a neat condition.
