SECTION 403 - HOT MIX ASPHALT PAVEMENT
403.01 Description This work shall consist of constructing one or more courses of Hot
Mix Asphalt pavement on an approved base in accordance with these specifications, and in reasonably close conformity with the lines, grades, thickness and typical cross sections shown on the plans or established. The HMA pavement shall be composed of a mixture of aggregate, filler if required, and asphalt material.
403.02 General The materials and their use shall conform to the requirements of Section
401 - Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement.
403.03 Construction The construction requirements shall be as specified in Section 401
- Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement.
403.04 Method of Measurement Hot mix asphalt pavement will be measured as
specified in Section 401.21- Method of Measurement.
403.05 Basis of Payment The accepted quantities of hot mix asphalt pavement will be
paid for at the contract unit price per ton for the mixtures, including hot mix asphalt material complete in place. Method A, Method B, Method C and Method D shall be used for acceptance as specified in Section 401 - Hot Mix Asphalt Pavements. (See Complementary Notes, Section 403 - Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement, for Method location).
