Deck permit checklist — Fresno, California
Assembled from Fresno’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Fresno requires a permit for a deck.
Fresno's Single Family Homes page puts freestanding decks on the no-permit list at 200 square feet, so long as no point of the deck stands more than 30 inches off the ground, the structure is detached from the house, and it is not the landing for the code-required exit door.
