San Bernardino requires a permit for a shed.
No locally amended shed threshold is published, so the state exemption in CBC/CRC 105.2 as adopted applies: a one-story detached accessory structure used as a tool or storage shed, playhouse or similar use is exempt from a building permit when the floor area does not exceed 120 sq ft. Zoning setback rules still apply and the schedule carries a $55.00 zoning consistency review fee on building permits.
