The City of Hartford publishes two different floor-area limits for a detached one-story storage shed or playhouse. The City's "A Property Owner's Guide to the Permitting Process," citing the 2022 Connecticut State Building Code, sets the limit at 200 square feet; the City's "Work Exempt From Permits" handout sets it at 120 square feet.
