Do you need a permit?
Shreveport requires a permit for a fence.
The City's Guide to Building Permits & Inspections lists fences not over 7 feet high as exempt from a building permit under Section R105.2 of the 2021 International Residential Code and directs owners to check with Zoning for fences under 6 feet; Section 7.3 of the Unified Development Code, however, states that all fences, including repair of existing fences, require a building permit.
