Toledo requires a permit for electrical work.
Toledo Municipal Code 1305.02 exempts a narrow set of residential electrical tasks from approval. Items include plug-in temporary decorative lighting, low-voltage work below 25 volts that cannot supply more than 50 watts, like-for-like replacement of a branch circuit overcurrent device in its existing location, reinstalling an attachment plug receptacle though not its outlet, and routine upkeep such as changing lamps or plugging approved portable equipment into an existing receptacle.
