Do you need a permit?
El Paso requires a permit for a fence.
A permit is not required for masonry landscape walls and fences not over forty-two inches high that are completely within the subject property and meet zoning requirements; where abutting properties or property lines differ in elevation, the height is measured from the high side of the wall, exclusive of retaining walls. A permit is not required for chain link or wrought iron fences not over six feet high that are completely within the subject property and meet zoning requirements. An exemption does not authorize work carried out in a manner that violates the code or any other law or ordinance of the jurisdiction.
