Deck permit checklist — Clearfield, Utah
Assembled from Clearfield’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Clearfield requires a permit for a deck.
A building permit is required for a deck standing over 30 inches off the ground, covered or not. Wood decks below that height with no roof appear on the city list of work needing no building permit. Unroofed concrete porches and patios are likewise exempt.
