Shed permit checklist — Clearfield, Utah
Assembled from Clearfield’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Clearfield requires a permit for a shed.
Storage sheds exceeding 200 sq ft need a building permit (the threshold drops to 120 sq ft for commercial property or multi-family of four or more units). One-story detached storage-type sheds of 200 sq ft or smaller on one- and two-family dwelling lots need no building permit, and sheds of 120 sq ft or smaller in commercial or multi-family settings are exempt from the building permit but still require site plan approval.
