Shed permit checklist — West Jordan, Utah
Assembled from West Jordan’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
West Jordan requires a permit for a shed.
A building permit is required only if the detached accessory structure has a floor area of more than 200 square feet, is 17 feet tall or taller, or has utility services (water, power, gas, etc.) hooked up to it. Structures below those thresholds still must be at least 8 feet from a corner side property line and keep 3 feet of clearance from any property line or from the house.
