Concrete Shoulder Curb Art. 662.04 575 661.03 General. The temperature of the base on which the curb is placed shall not be less than 40 °F (4 °C) at the time the curb is placed. Prior to placing the curb, the base shall be cleaned and then primed with bituminous material at a rate of 0.05 to 0.1 gal/sq yd (0.2 to 0.5 L/sq m). The HMA shoulder curb shall be constructed with a mechanical curb laying machine of a type approved by the Engineer.
