Metal Post Art. 729.03 643 The 2 x 2 in. (50 x 50 mm) top section shall be telescoped into the base section a minimum of 8 in. (200 mm) and a maximum of 12 in. (300 mm) and the two sections fastened together as shown in the plans. (c) Base Casting. Base casting shall consist of two sections as shown in the plans. The base section shall be 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 x 8 1/2 in. (57 x 57 x 216 mm). This section shall be inserted at least 6 3/4 in. (170 mm) into the base casting to form a shim into which the 2 in.
