SECTION 407 - TACK COAT
407.01 Description. This work consists of preparing and treating an existing
bituminous or concrete surface with bitumi nous material in accordance with these specifications and in reasonably close confor mity with the lines shown on the plans or established by the Engineer.
407.02 Materials.
407.02.1 Bituminous Material . The materials shall co nform to the applicable
requirements of Section 702. When not sp ecified, the materials shall be one from the Department’s APL. When emulsified asphalt is used, it shall not be diluted without approval of the Engineer.
