Do you need a permit?
Chandler does not require a permit for a shed.
The Homeowner Building Permit Manual states that a building permit is not required for a one-story detached accessory structure where the floor area does not exceed 120 square feet and the height does not exceed 7 feet. Ordinance No. 5108, which amends the work exempt from permit provisions of the adopted residential and building codes at sections 29-6.5 and 29-2.9, carries the same 120 square foot and 7 foot limits with an option up to a maximum of 9 feet where setbacks are increased at a ratio of 2 additional feet of setback for each additional 1 foot of building height.
