Do you need a permit?
Aurora requires a permit for electrical work.
No permit is needed for light installation, light replacements or repairs, repairing or replacing switches and outlets, smoke detectors, or carbon monoxide detectors, unless a new device is installed where none existed. Work on aluminum wiring does not need a permit unless a permit is desired. An electric vehicle charging station does not need a permit unless the system is hard wired. A garbage disposal does not need a permit unless a new outlet or switch is installed. A radon system does not need a permit unless new electrical is provided for the fan, and a sump pump does not need one unless new electrical is installed for the pump.
