Orlando counts an elevated deck as structural work, which puts it outside the $7,500 residential permit exemption that Florida Statutes Section 553.79(1)(g) created effective July 1, 2026; the value of the job does not change that. The city's published exemption guidance names elevated decks and does not separately address decks at ground level.
