Re-roof permit checklist — Orlando, Florida
Assembled from Orlando’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Orlando requires a permit for a re-roof.
The $7,500 residential permit exemption at Florida Statutes Section 553.79(1)(g), effective July 1, 2026, does not reach a re-roof in Orlando. The city files roofing under structural work and lists that whole category as ineligible for the exemption whatever the job costs.
