Fence permit checklist — Eugene, Oregon
Assembled from Eugene’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Eugene does not require a permit for a fence.
A building permit is not required for fences 6 feet high or less constructed of materials weighing more than 5 pounds per square foot, or for fences 9 feet high or less constructed of materials weighing 5 pounds per square foot or less; fences must still comply with the provisions of Eugene Code Chapter 9. Posts, trellises, lattice, and any other material placed on top of the fence count as part of the fence when measuring overall height.
