Do you need a permit?
Salem does not require a permit for a re-roof.
Reroofing is exempt from a building permit up to the 30 percent limit on replacement or repair of roofing and sheathing, measured against the required live load design capacity, under the reroofing exemption in Section R105.2 of the 2021 Oregon Residential Specialty Code.
