Dallas requires a permit for a fence.
A fence permit is required to erect a fence over four feet high in a front yard or over six feet high elsewhere, and to erect a swimming pool barrier fence. No permit is required for a fence that does not serve as a pool enclosure and is not over four feet high in a front yard or over six feet high elsewhere.
