This is the notable local deviation: Grand Prairie's fee schedule prices residential accessory buildings starting at 100 square feet and under, which means the city permits sheds well below the 200-square-foot IRC R105.2 exemption most Texas cities rely on. Building Inspections also lists sheds, garages, shops and gazebos as permit-required accessory structures. Assume any detached accessory structure needs a permit and zoning/setback review.
