Shed permit checklist — Provo, Utah
Assembled from Provo’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Provo requires a permit for a shed.
No square-footage exemption is stated; a building permit is required before construction of detached accessory structures such as sheds, garages, gazebos and greenhouses. Accessory buildings must have a smaller footprint and height than the main dwelling, and structures outside the buildable area may not exceed ten percent of the actual lot area.
