Springville requires a permit for a shed.
A detached accessory structure needs a permit if it is 200 sq ft or larger and associated with a residential use, if it is multilevel, or if it has electrical, plumbing, heating or cooling. Structures smaller than 200 sq ft do not require a permit but must still meet the setbacks in the Springville City Development Code. The exempt-work handout uses a 120 sq ft threshold for non-residential locations. The Building FAQ adds that a permit is required regardless of size if power, water or gas is run to the shed.
