Fence permit checklist — Tacoma, Washington
Assembled from Tacoma’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Tacoma does not require a permit for a fence.
Fences can be built up to seven feet in height without a permit, provided the fence is structurally sound, is located entirely upon private property, and does not block the view from vehicular traffic entering into or turning onto the street.
