Masonry Units

704.01Clay or Shale Brick. Brick shall conform to the requirements of one of the following

specifications:

Sewer and Manhole Brick-AASHTO M 91. Building Brick-AASHTO M 114.

704.02Concrete Brick. Concrete brick shall conform to the requirements of ASTM C55

704.03Concrete Masonry Blocks. Concrete masonry blocks may be rectangular or segmented

and, when specified, shall have ends shaped to provide interlock at vertical joints. The blocks shall conform to the requirements of ASTM C139, or, for hollow blocks, to ASTM C90. Dimensions and tolerances shall conform to the above applicable requirements or those specified on the plans.

704.04Masonry Mortar. Masonry mortar shall be TypeS conforming to ASTM C270
