3906 WATER FOR CONCRETE AND MORTAR 3906.1 SCOPE Provide water for use in mixing and curing Portland cement concrete and mortar. 3906.2 REQUIREMENTS Provide water for mixing concrete meeting ASTM C1602, Standard Specification for Mixing Water Used in the Production of Hydraulic Cement Concrete, and the following: (1) Not salty or brackish (2) Clean (3) Free of injurious quantities of deleterious substances such as oil, a cid, alkali, and organic matter Provide water for use in curing concrete that does not contain impurities at concentrations that cause discoloration or surface etching.
