SECTION 209: BLADING AND RESHAPING
209.1 Description
This Work consists of constructing or rest oring and shaping Roa dbeds and Base Course to the typical section or as specified in the Contract.

209.3 Construction Requirements
The Contractor shall shape the surface of the Roadbed or Base Course Materials to the typical section or as specifi ed in the Contract with approved e xisting Materials. The Contractor shall replace any unapproved ex isting Roadbed or Base Course Ma terials in accordance with the requirements of Section 203, “Excavation, Borrow, and Emban kment” and Section 303, “Base Course”, as directed by the Project Manager.
209.3.1 Compaction
The Contractor shall perform the following to the top six (6) i nches of the Roadbed or Base Course, after restoring the grade and typical section: 1. Scarify; 2. Water to ensure the moisture content of the Roadbed and Base Course M aterials meet the requirements of Section 203, “Excavation, Borrow and E mbankment;” and Section 303, “Base Course;” 3. Compact to 95% of maximum density per AASHTO T180 Method A o r D (TTCP Modified); and, 4. Frequency of testing shall be performed in accordance with S ection 906, “Minimum Testing Requirements.”
209.3.2 Tolerances
The Contractor shall ensure the top surface of the finished Roa dbed or Base Course Materials along centerline shall not vary by more than 0.1 foot above or below established grade and 0.05 foot above or below the typical cross-section me asured on the finished surface at right angles to the centerline. The Contractor shall correc t all deviations from these tolerances.
209.4 Method of Measurement
The Department will measure blading and reshaping along the Roa dbed centerline or the typical section.

209.5.1 Work Included in Payment
The Department will consider as included in the payment for th e pay item(s) listed in this section and will not measure or pay separately for the followin g Work: 1. Restoring Grade and typical section; Section 209: Blading and Reshaping Page 121 2. Material placement and compaction; 3. Reworking or rehandeling Materi als to meet compaction requir ements; and 4.
