Do you need a permit?
Phoenix requires a permit for electrical work.
An electrical permit is not required for cord- and plug-connected appliances and utilization equipment, temporary decorative lighting, repair or replacement of motors rated 50 horsepower or less and transformers rated 45 kVA or less of the same type and rating in the same location, like-for-like replacement of switches, receptacles and control devices rated 60 amperes or less other than a service disconnect, or replacement in kind of a circuit breaker rated 125 amperes or less other than a service disconnect.
