Colorado Springs requires a permit for a deck.
A deck is exempt from permitting when it meets four conditions together: 200 square feet or less in area, no point standing 30 inches or more off the grade beside it as measured within 36 inches horizontally of the walking surface edge, no attachment to the dwelling, and no role as the landing for the main entry door.
