Do you need a permit?
Indianapolis requires a permit for a deck.
A structural permit is not required for a deck where no part of the floor is more than 30 inches above finished grade and the assessor notification requirements of section 536-215 are met. An Improvement Location Permit may still be required depending on the scope of work.
