Do you need a permit?
Newark requires a permit for a retaining wall.
N.J.A.C. 5:23-2.14 does not apply its retaining wall permit requirement to a wall that is to be dedicated to the municipality and is reviewed as part of a subdivision or site plan application under Article 6 of the Municipal Land Use Law, or to a wall subject to review and approval by a county engineer or by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
