Clark County requires a permit for a deck.
Clark County Code section 22.02.190 exempts 'platforms not more than 30 inches in height above grade' from a building permit, matching the common IRC deck threshold. A deck more than 30 inches above grade, any deck that is roofed or enclosed, and any deck attached to a dwelling in a way that alters the structure requires a permit. Zoning setback and lot-coverage limits under Title 30 still apply even to an exempt low platform, and a deck placed near a drainage easement or wash can trigger separate flood-control review.
