Do you need a permit?
Las Vegas requires a permit for general building work.
A permit is required to add a room; build, demolish or move a carport, garage or shed of 200 square feet or larger; finish an attic, garage or basement to create living space; cut in or widen a window or door opening; move, remove or add walls; build a stairway; build a patio or enclose an existing patio; or reconfigure an existing room, garage, patio or balcony into a new use. Painting, wallpaper, cabinets, countertops and floor covering do not require a permit, and neither does insulating an existing single-family residence when no other permits are required.
