Do you need a permit?
Las Vegas requires a permit for electrical work.
A permit is required to install or alter any permanent wiring or electrical device, to run additional wiring for an outlet or light fixture, to change out, upgrade or relocate the existing main electrical panel, and to install a photovoltaic system. A permit is not required to replace broken or damaged outlets like for like, to replace defective breakers like for like, to replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, to replace an existing garbage disposal, dishwasher or similar appliance of 30 amps or less, to install low voltage wiring for garage door openers, cable TV or burglar alarms, to install phone or cable outlets using listed wire, to replace an existing doorbell, or for power-limited wiring of 50 volts or less in single-family dwellings. A permit is required where a GFCI protected outlet is required by code or where outlets are changed for decorative purposes.
