Shed permit checklist — Las Vegas, Nevada

Assembled from Las Vegas’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.

Do you need a permit?

Las Vegas requires a permit for a shed.

When a permit is not required

Non-habitable one-story detached accessory structures such as storage structures and playhouses do not require a permit when the floor area does not exceed 200 square feet and there are no electrical, plumbing or mechanical improvements or additions. This exemption does not remove applicable zoning code requirements. A permit is required to build, demolish or move a carport, garage or shed of 200 square feet or larger.
