Re-roof permit checklist — Oxnard, California
Assembled from Oxnard’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Oxnard requires a permit for a re-roof.
Oxnard exempts roof repairs of less than 40 square feet, provided the repairs do not extend past the roof covering. That is notably tighter than many California cities (Huntington Beach, for comparison, uses 100 square feet). Any full tear-off, overlay or reroof of a larger area needs a permit.
