Do you need a permit?
Austin does not require a permit for a re-roof.
Some roof repairs and replacements, including those with asphalt shingles or replacements that do not adversely affect roof structure, may be exempt from a permit. A full list of work that does not require a permit is published on the City's Work Exempt from Building Permit webpage.
