Do you need a permit?
Herriman requires a permit for electrical work.
Repair and maintenance of existing electrical, mechanical or plumbing systems does not require a permit. Permits are required to replace or add a furnace or air conditioner, replace or add a water heater, install any type of fireplace, add new electrical, mechanical or plumbing lines to a home or detached structure, install a back yard gas fire pit, install a generator or Generlink, or install new electrical for an electric vehicle charger. Installing a back yard fireplace, barbecue or other open flame cooking device does not require a building permit, though International Fire Code requirements still apply.
