Re-roof permit checklist — Santa Clarita, California
Assembled from Santa Clarita’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Santa Clarita requires a permit for a re-roof.
Under Santa Clarita Building Code Section 105.2.3, no permit is required for repairs to a roof that do not exceed 10 percent of the total roof area or 200 square feet, whichever is less, provided those limits are not exceeded within any one-year period. Anything beyond that, including a full re-roof or roof recovering, requires a permit.
