Do you need a permit?
North Las Vegas requires a permit for a retaining wall.
The North Las Vegas Municipal Code sets its retaining wall threshold at two feet in Section 15.72.140.D.5, measuring from the footing top up to the wall's highest point. A wall at or under that height is exempt unless something above loads the ground behind it or the wall is holding back flammable liquids. Only the building permit is waived; plumbing, electrical and mechanical permits still attach to exempted items unless separately exempted.
