3306.1SCOPE
Provide carbon steel shapes, plates, bars, sheets, and strips.
3306.2REQUIREMENTS
Provide low-carbon structural steel meeting the following ASTM requirements, the tensile requirements, and the requirements of 3308, “General Requirements for Structural Steel.” Provide steel shapes, plates, and bars meeting the requirements of ASTM A709, Standard Specification for Structural Steel for Bridges, Grade 36. Provide steel sheets and strips meeting the requirements of ASTM A1011, Standard Specification for Steel, Sheet and Strip, Hot-Rolled, Carbon, Structural, High-Strength Low-Alloy, High-Strength Low-Alloy with Improved Formability, and Ultra-High Strength, Grade 36 Type 2.
3306.3SAMPLING AND TESTING
Perform tensile tests for all sizes of shapes and bars in accordance with the Schedule for Materials Control.
