3309.1SCOPE
Provide high-strength, low-alloy structural steel shapes, plates, bars, sheets, and strips.
3309.2REQUIREMENTS
Provide high-strength, low-alloy shapes, plates, and bars meeting the requirements of ASTM A 709, Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Ferritic/Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe , Grade 50W, and 3308, “General Requirements for Structural Steel.” Provide high-strength, low-alloy sheet and strip meeting the requirements of ASTM A606, Standard Specification for Steel, Sheet and Strip, High-Strength, Low-Alloy, Hot-Rolled and Cold-Rolled, with Improved Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance, Type 4 hot rolled Material and 3308, “General Requirements for Structural Steel,” except ensure the yield strength is at least 50,000 psi. For unpainted Structures, provide all steel Material of the same type.
